Terms of Service
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Banter, the team workspace provided at banter.work (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Accounts and workspaces
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Workspace owners and admins control membership, roles, and content within their workspace.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you and your team create in Banter. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the rights to share it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes: attempting to access another workspace's data, distributing malware, sending spam, harassing others, infringing intellectual-property rights, violating applicable law, or attempting to disrupt or overload the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Plans and billing
Free plans are provided as-is with usage limits. Paid plans, where offered, are billed in advance on a per-user basis and renew automatically until cancelled. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Vault disclaimer
Vault items are encrypted in your browser with a passphrase we never receive. If you lose your passphrase, your vault contents cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Banter will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, and workspace data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Questions? Contact support@banter.work.
